Rochell Would Love To Be Part of GT Defense

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy (Georgia) defensive end Isaac Rochell is only a sophomore but he's already getting attention from the two in-state schools. One of those two in-state schools is one of his two early favorites.

The 6'4-1/2", 225 lb. Isaac Rochell plays on both sides of the ball for ELCA. "I play defensive end and offensive tackle."

Even though it's early in the process schools are already showing interest in Isaac. "Georgia Tech has already been to my school a couple of times and Coach (Joe) Speed has expressed how much Georgia Tech is interested in me." Missouri has expressed interest in Rochell and schools like Alabama, Georgia, and Clemson have just begun to show interest in him. "I am also interested in Air Force."

There is no doubt in Isaac's mind which team is recruiting him the hardest. "Georgia Tech by far and the second one would be Missouri." Rochell considers them his early favorites. "I would say Georgia Tech is my favorite because of the interest that Coach Speed has shown in me." Rochell is also familiar with Georgia Tech team chaplain Derrick Moore. "He has given speeches at my church and school and I admire him very much."

The academics at Georgia Tech and the location are two other factors that give Georgia Tech the early edge for Rochell. "I like how close the campus is to my home." Rochell watched his brother being recruited before he signed with Air Force and will use that in his recruitment.

Rochell has been working hard to improve his game during the off-season. "I want to add about ten more pounds of muscle and I'm also working on my form to improve my forty time." Rochell considers his speed rush as the best part of his game right now.

Georgia Tech is looking at Rochell as a defensive end. "Coach Speed said that with my frame and long arms that I would be a perfect fit at defensive end." Rochell feels his speed and ability to rush the passer would make his a perfect fit for the 3-4 defensive scheme. "I would love to be a part of that defense at Georgia Tech." Top Stories
