"Coach Andy McCollum called me and spoke to me for a few minutes, and then he handed the phone to (head coach) Paul Johnson, who offered me," Chase Roberts said. "He told me that the coaches had watched my film and they were sure I'd be a good fit."
The offer from Tech is the first for Roberts, a 2012 recruit out of Norcross, Ga. And since he was a young boy, the son of a Georgia Tech graduate has always wanted the offer to be a Yellow Jacket.
"It was such an honor to get that offer," Roberts said. "Ever since Pee Wee football, I've wanted that offer."
As for future visits to the campus, Roberts said that he isn't locked in to the Feb. 19 Junior Day in Atlanta, but he is definitely going to make his best effort to attend the festivities. But as for now, Roberts is content with the knowledge that Georgia Tech is officially a possible destination for his college career.
