Loyal Moves Jackets to the Top of His List

Kenno Loyal has decided that he is more likely to be a Yellow Jacket than anything else after his most recent visit to Atlanta this weekend.

"I talked to (head coach) Paul Johnson yesterday during my visit – we were just catching up and discussing things," Loyal said. "He said I could either be an A-back or a B-back, but I, personally, would rather play B-back."

Either way, the running back out of Decatur, Ga. likes Georgia Tech more and more as the recruiting process goes along. A fan of the atmosphere surrounding the football program that he previously described as a "family," Loyal is only getting more familiar with Tech, and that seems to be good news for the Yellow Jackets.

"I love the way people treat each other there, but the offense they run is what puts Georgia Tech at the top of my list," Loyal said.

During yesterday's visit, Loyal spoke with many of the other 2012 recruits, and he has formed quite a bond with offensive lineman Joe Harris, a fellow junior with an offer from Georgia Tech. Just how close these two are is something the GT coaches should notice.

"We pretty much agreed that we want to go to the same school and play in the same program," Loyal said. "So we're going to make sure that we commit to a school where we can both go and do well."

This "package deal" will likely take the process down to Signing Day 2012, as the two have plenty of official visits left to make. Loyal said that the decision may come a little sooner, but Signing Day is a likely finishing point for both juniors.

Loyal has set his top-3 as GT, Oklahoma and Alabama, but he says his number-one is clearly Georgia Tech. That's good news for the Yellow Jackets, because if they can convince Loyal, it appears they will score Harris as well.
