Hooker Could Follow Friends to Atlanta

At first, K'Hadree Hooker heard of good news from a familiar voice, but the Yellow Jackets officially offered the defensive tackle a few days ago. With friends from North Carolina headed to Atlanta, Hooker is excited about the offer and is definitely considering Georgia Tech for his services.

"Vad Lee told me on Facebook that I needed to get in contact with (recruiting coordinator) Andy McCollum because he had some good news for me," Hooker said.

K'Hadree Hooker has one more year left at South Lenoir High School before making the leap to college football, but he has formed a bond with Lee and Tremayne McNair, two fellow North Carolina natives who have spoken to Hooker about joining them at Georgia Tech in 2012. Even though Lee and McNair are heading to Atlanta soon, the three remain friends, and Hooker definitely believes their heavy influence though conversations will help nudge him towards Georgia Tech.

"They've told me that I would help out at GT if I went there," Hooker said.

But McNair and Lee aren't the only ones who think Hooker would be a great fit at Tech – McCollum had plenty of positive comments during the offer.

"Coach McCollum told me I'm the guy they want because I can come in and help their defense immediately," Hooker said.

This offer was a big deal for Hooker, as he is very fond of the Yellow Jackets. Citing their facilities, cozy size of campus and nearby family as positive factors pushing him towards Atlanta, Hooker is weighing Georgia Tech more heavily.

"I haven't made a list of my favorite schools yet, but GT is definitely high up among the schools I'm considering," Hooker said.

Hooker was recently on campus for a Junior Day visit as well, which gave him a chance to get to know the school a little better. After the visit was complete, he was really hoping for the offer from the Yellow Jackets, because he was fond of everything he saw.

"I know that if I go to Georgia Tech, I can play good football and get a good education at the same time," Hooker said.

Expect to see Lee and McNair serve as great references for Hooker with regards to Georgia Tech, which could give Paul Johnson and his staff an advantage over the other schools pursuing the defensive tackle.
