"I still want to put my hand on the ground," Whitehead said, a reference to his desire to play defensive end. Georgia Tech has offered him as an outside linebacker and he appears to be a good fit in the linebacker corps of Al Groh's 3-4 defense, but will it affect his final decision?
It sounds like Kenderious Whitehead is still very fond of GT, especially after he expressed his trip to the Flats last weekend. Additionally, he would prefer to play defensive end, but he is focused on learning the outside linebacker position if he commits to the Yellow Jackets.
"I had a good time hanging out with the coaches and watching my position that I might play at the next level," Whitehead said.
Whitehead once again expressed his capability to learn the 3-4 defense, and he is confident that the transition would be smooth. Being from Georgia, Whitehead said that the fact that GT is close to home could possibly factor into his decision, but he still isn't playing favorites just yet.
Good news for Tech is that Whitehead has been a regular visitor to the campus, and he appears to like the program a lot.
"I got to see the coaches again and watch practice, and that's always a plus," Whitehead said.
As for the next visit, Whitehead may be back on campus again for the Spring Game. However, he is debating between the GT visit and a possible visit to Auburn University next weekend. Even if he doesn't visit next weekend, Whitehead has been around the program several times in the last few months, and that may carry more weight than his desire to play a position other than the one he has been offered at Georgia Tech.
