Dalvin Tomlinson's most recent visits were to see two SEC schools. "I've made a couple of visits. One was to Vanderbilt with my teammate Chris Moody and the other was to Alabama for their spring game."
Tomlinson had a chance to see both the football and academic side of things at Vanderbilt. "It was nice. I liked the academics more than the football but I did like the visit a lot. I like the campus and where it is located and how they talked up their academics. I know the academics are good there and I think with a few good classes the football team can be better. Chris enjoyed the trip too."
Dalvin liked what he saw on his trip to Alabama. "It was great. There were over 90,000 fans there for their spring game. I got a chance to see the campus again and see all the facilites and talk with a few of the coaches. I will be back again."
A return trip to Georgia Tech is also in his plans. "I've been to the campuses a few times and I plan on going to their spring game this coming weekend. I have formed a very good relationship with Coach (Andy) McCollum and we have talked about how I would fit into their defensive scheme. I am being recruited there as a defensive end and I am one of their top targets for the line in this class."
One former teammate and a current teammate may help Dalvin reach his decision. " It is nice to have former teammate Chris Jackson at Tech and the fact that they are recruiting Chris Moody my current teammate and quarterback is a big plus. Chris and I have talked about playing on the same college team and we would like that to happen."
Dalvin is not ready to name a top five. "I'd like to visit more schools including the ones I've already visited plus a school like Auburn that I haven't seen much of this year. I'd like to see more schools in the ACC and SEC. I think some time this summer I will have a top five or so. I need to gather much more info before I can start naming leaders."
As he's mentioned before, academics will play a big role in his decision. "The first thing I am looking for in a school is their academic reputation. I also want to be on team where my teammates are willing to do what it takes to be a winner. I would like the school to have a very stable coaching staff and one that I can really relate with and have the entire time I am there. I know this is a business and coaches come and go."
Look for Dalvin's decision to come after his senior season. "I think it will take that long for me to sort out everything and really come to a decision."
