Whitehead Drawn Back to The Flats

Linebacker Kenderious Whitehead has been a familiar face around the Georgia Tech football team this semester, and he was in attendance at Tech's Spring Game on Saturday as well. The DE/LB was considering going to Auburn's game before he decided to head to Atlanta.

The last time Kenderious Whitehead spoke to GoJackets.com, he was on the fence about attending the Georgia Tech Spring Game, deciding between it and a trip to Auburn University for a visit. With the Tigers in mind, Whitehead decided instead to return to Atlanta and take in the scrimmage with around 70 other recruits.

"The event was pretty good, and the crowd was really amped up," Whitehead said. "I really liked how they treated the event like a real game, so I got to see a lot there."

Excited to be in attendance and taking in another GT Football event, Whitehead spoke with Jimmie Kitchen and other possible future Yellow Jackets and said they appeared to be just as excited to spend a day inside Bobby Dodd Stadium.

"It definitely didn't change my mind on anything," Whitehead said, staying positive on the Jackets. "I got to talk with Andy (McCollum), Coach (Joe) Speed and Coach (Paul) Johnson too, which was a big plus."

Whitehead seemed to be happy with his decision to attend the Tech Spring Game today instead of making the possible visit to Auburn, and GT still remains near the top of his list. With official Spring Games winding down, Whitehead said he is likely done with those, but will continue to look at other schools into the summer.

"I'm going to try to visit other schools this summer to get a better feel for everything," Whitehead said.

But for another weekend, Georgia Tech had his focus and that's good news for Coach Johnson and the Yellow Jackets.
