"Right before practice on Monday, Coach Spencer came by my school and he talked with my coach for a while," Dobson said. Dobson is a rising senior at North Florida Christian, where he hopes to lead his team to the playoffs in 2011.
Dobson then practiced with his team on Monday and Spencer spoke with his coach again after practice. While the pre-practice talk was about bigger-picture issues, Dobson said the two of them spoke about his performance in practice.
"Before practice, he told ny coach that he was looking forward to watching me play, and when practice was done, he told him that he liked what he saw," Dobson said.
The 2012 recruit visited Atlanta two weeks before the Georgia Tech Spring Game, and he remains happy with everything he has heard from the Yellow Jackets. He said he is looking to make his next visit this summer so he can watch a summer workout and get a feel for how things run on the football field at Tech.
But for now, Dobson said he is focused on spring practice at NFC while the schools visit him in Tallahassee. "North Carolina State, Southern Mississippi, Western Kentucky, and Florida International have all been by to visit lately – a bunch of schools have been coming by," Dobson said.
While Georgia Tech and Florida International are the only schools to offer Dobson so far, he said he isn't putting any school at the top of his list over the others just yet. He is very open to all interested schools and will have to weigh his options when the time comes.
But until then, it appears Dobson is a big fan of Georgia Tech, and Spencer's visit surely helped show the Yellow Jackets have a high interest in the quarterback.
