Mann made the short trip from McDonough to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. The tripwas a good one for Mann. "We were on campus and got to see everything. I was impressed. We saw all the athletic facilities and they showed me what the new basketball facility will look like. It would be ready my first year at Tech. I also saw much of the campus including the dorms."
Charles took the trip to Tech with his mom. His mom had the same feeling about the trip as Charles. "She liked it, too." Charles and his mom were given the tour by Coach Brian Gregory and his staff.
Coach Gregory made an immediate impression on Charles. "Coach Gregory is straight forward and honest. I like that."
When asked if he had received an offer, Charles said that he believed so. "Coach Gregory said he doesn't just give out offers. It's important that he find the right type of players and people. He also wants to see me play."
Charles had some preconceived notions about Tech that were not changed or altered by the visit. "It's always been my dream school. That hasn't changed."
Mann has quite a few offers and has plans to visit some of those schools. "I have thirteen offers and I will be taking two unofficial visits this weekend to Georgia and Florida State." No one school is recruiting him any harder than the other in Charles' eyes.
There are a few things that Charles will be looking at in making his decision. "Number one is playing time and then being where they can help me get better in preparation for the next step to the NBA or playing overseas and then academics."
The process of making that decision is not far off for Mann. "We might reduce the list to four or five this summer and then make a decision in November." Charles will make that decision with his parents and his coach. Grades will not be an issue as Charles has a 3.4 GPA.
