Georgia Tech Hosts Hunt on Campus

The AAU basketball season is just starting to heat up and a number of 2012 stars on a variety of highly-rated Atlanta-area teams has been distinguishing themselves. Among the top tier is 6-5 shooting guard, Marcus Hunt of the Georgia Stars. He plays his high school ball at North Clayton (Georgia).

This past weekend was a busy one for Marcus Hunt. He played in the Wallace Prather Classic and helped lead the Georgia Stars to a championship win over Shaq Goodwin and the Atlanta Celtics.

During the weekend, Hunt also found time to take an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech. "We played pretty well and a couple of us had a chance to visit Georgia Tech between games on Saturday."

Hunt made the trip with teammates Alex Poythress from Clarksville, Tennessee and Justin Seymour from Campbell High Schoolin Atlanta. Coach (Brian) Gregory, Coach (Chad) Dollar, and Coach (Josh) Postorino were our hosts."

The visit gave Hunt and his teammates a chance to see more of the facilities than the actual court where the Jackets play. "We got to see the weight room, the practice facility, and the video area."

Marcus already has an offer from Georgia Tech so the Sunday visit to the Tech campus was a chance for him to find out the offensive and defensive style that the new staff will play. "The video was good, because I got to see Coach Gregory's playing style. He uses an up tempo and they play good defense."

Hunt liked what he saw on the short visit but he's not ready to name any favorites. "I don't have a favorites list yet."

Up next for Marcus will be a trip this weekend with the Georgia Stars to play in the Big Shots AAU Tournament. "Following that tournament, I'm off to L.A." Top Stories
