Coach Dominick Ciao on Nelson Agholor

Berkley School (Tampa) head football coach Dominick Ciao helped prepare players for division one football while coaching at Tampa Jesuit. Ciao now has another top prospect in safety/ receiver Nelson Agholor. Coach Ciao helped give us some insight into Agholors recruitment.

Profile - Nelson Agholor

Coach Ciao and his team have begun spring practice and they've seen quite a few college coaches stopping by their school."Nelson is hearing from many schools and he has been bombarded with calls from recruiting services. Right now since we are in our spring practice Nelson prefers that the interviews go through me."

One of the visitors to see Agholor was Georgia Tech defensive backs coach Charles Kelly. "Coach Kelly is very genuine and honest man and I really think he is very genuine in his and Georgia Tech's interest in Nelson. Coach Kelly said that the Yellow Jackets are very interested in Nelson and the fact that he is so versatile of a player."

Nelson is 6' 1" and 180 pounds and right now he plays wide receiver, running back, and safety for Berkley. Nelson is also a big special teams player. "I got a real good feeling that Coach Kelly likes Nelson a lot. From our conversation I also got the feeling that a verbal offer for Nelson is in his future and very soon. I feel he could be a good fit for Georgia Tech as I have sent a few players up there like George Godsey and A.J. Smith."

One of the things that Coach Ciao likes about Agholor is his dedication to the team. "Nelson is one of those players that gives you all he has and will do what ever the teams needs him to do to win. He is a very special player for us."

Nelson is not ready to name a favorite team at this time. "He is as wide open as they come. He is enjoying his recruitment right now and is very busy with spring practice so he hasn't had the time to really look at many schools."

Look for Nelson to begin making plans for summer visits after their spring game on the 20th. "He will sit down with myself and his parents and make some decisions as to which schools or camps he would like to attend. My guess is that it will be the week after or somewhere in that time frame as to when he starts making some definite plans." When Agholor does make a visit, Coach Ciao or his parents will also accompany him on those visits. "I feel that either his parents or I will be going with him on some visits. Nelson is a very good young man and wants to make sure he has everything like it is supposed to be." Top Stories
