Georgia Tech was a school that Chris Harper liked and he took matters into his own hands. "I sent them some highlight film and called them. They told me they were very impressed with my film and that Coach Buzz Preston would be coming out to my high school to talk with my head coach. It was great to know the interest is mutual."
Coach Preston had good things to say about Harper when he arrived at his high school. "He told my coach that they really liked how I played the wide receiver position and that I could be a big part of their offense. He then said that Georgia Tech was officially extending a verbal offer to me and would be staying in contact with me through out my recruiting process."
Harper knows they run the triple option but he thinks that if he runs his routes right he will get his share of catches. "That has been proven in their offense. I know a wide receiver to be a complete player at that position has to block and I know I can do that."
Although Harper is not ready to name any favorites right now he does admit that he has high interest in Georgia Tech. Tech and Southern Methodist were the first two schools to offer Harper. "I am also hearing from UCLA, Arizona, and Arizona State."
Now that he has an offer from Georgia Tech, Harper is looking to take a trip to Atlanta. "I will be making a trip within the next two months. I am anxious to get there and see what the school is like and get to see the stadium and facilities there."
Harper's plans right now are to make his college choice sometime during his senior season. "I am not in a hurry as I want to see if more offers come in so I can have good list of schools to make the best choice for myself."
Running crisp routes and catching everything thrown his way are two of Harper's strengths. "I have good hands. "I'd like to get my forty time down to the 4.5 or lower range." Harper is currently 6'1"-170 and runs a 4.58 forty.
