Brandon Morris Names Favorites

With three consecutive Georgia state titles, it's hard to argue that Miller Grove High School in Lithonia is not a force in boys basketball. But, don't let the 4-A classification fool you, they were arguably the best team in the State last year and with an impressive returning group and solid young coach, they will certainly be ranked highly in national polls.

Brandon Morris, is a long-armed, 6-7, 198 pound rising wing forward, who is one of the stars for the Wolverines along with his 6-9 senior teammate, Tony Parker. He talked about his recruiting.

Summer is not a time to take off from basketball and Morris is proof of that. "Definitely not, between team camps, AAU, college visits, there's plenty to do."

Morris and his teammate Tony Parker recently took one of those official visits. ‘We went to Memphis and I liked it. It had good atmosphere and they said they want us both to go there."

Are Morris and Parker a package deal? Brandon was quick to answer that question. "Not really. They'd like to get us both, but I think they'd be happy if just one of us decided to go there."

Lots of schools are showing interest in Brandon including offers from in-state schools Georgia Tech and Georgia.. A new school has begun to show interest in Morris. ‘I heard from Texas this week. My coach kind of keeps track of those things."

Two southern schools have emerged as favorites for Morris. "I'd say Florida and Memphis." Georgia Tech is another school that has gotten his attention. "Oh yeah…I wouldn't throw them under the bus. They have a new coach and everything. So, I'm looking at them, too."

Brandon has three or things that he'll be looking at in choosing a school. "How soon can I play, the atmosphere, the coaching staff and what style of play are things I'll be looking at in making my decision."

Morris is planning on making his decision at the end of his senior season so there is still time his favorites list to change. Brandon will be enlisting the help of his mom and coach in making that decision.

Next up for Morris will be the Nike EYBL Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina. Morris and his teammates on the Georgia Stars will be going up against some of the top AAU teams from around the country. Top Stories
