Dennis Andrews: Ready to Be A Yellow Jacket

Tallahassee Godby quarterback Dennis Andrews was at Georgia Tech's camp today. He put on a good showing and put up very good numbers. That wasn't the only thing Dennis had to give Georgia Tech today. Before he left camp, he gave Coach Paul Johnson his verbal commit.

Andrews felt he performed well today at camp. "I think I did very good and put up solid numbers. I ran a 4.54 forty time. In pro shuttle time I ran a 2.21 and had a 35" vertical jump. It was a great time there. I really enjoyed my time in Atlanta and at Georgia Tech."

Dennis had a chance to talk to the coaches and didn't take long to let the coaches know what was on his mind. "Yes sir I sure did. I walked into their offices and they asked what was up and I said, "I am ready to be a Yellow Jacket. I am giving you my commitment while I am here. I am coming here to play football for you." They were very excited and happy for me. Coach Bohanon was happy to have me on board and said he was ready to get me there and be a part of the Yellow Jacket family."

There was a combination of things that led to the Andrews decision. "Georgia Tech is a great school both academically and they have a great football team. It's a great mix of the two. My parents, little brother, and others that came with us really loved the school while we were there. Plus when I looked at everything Georgia Tech offered, everything came up as a positive. I knew I was ready to commit so I went ahead and did it. I am ready to be a Yellow Jacket."

Andrews' parents were very happy with his decision. "They were ready for me to get my recruiting over as they knew I wanted to come to Georgia Tech. They loved the school and just wanted me to be happy and they are with this decision."

Dennis is ready for the competition he'll face when he arrives at Tech. "I know I will have to work hard and prove myself but I am coming in determined and ready to do what it takes. Competition makes the team and players better so this is a good thing to have." Top Stories
