Coach Walker Speaks on Will's Decision

Sandy Creek head football coach Chip Walker has established a relationship with Georgia Tech through the recruitment of his former players Calvin Johnson, Andrew Gardner and Isaiah Johnson. Georgia Tech added a 4th to that group this morning with the commit of offensive linemen Will Adams.

Coach Walker feels that he'll be another solid contributor to the GT program. Will Adams strengths are his size, length, and athleticism. "He moves well for a guy that big and that will be a tremendous asset to him in Georgia Tech's offense."

Walker also feels he could play in any offense."His versatility is another asset." Walker compares Adams to his former player Andrew Gardner but feels he may be more developed physically at this age than Gardner.

The recruitment of Adams by Georgia Tech began to heat up in the spring when he began to take visits to practice. "They wanted to see him and get to know him better." This was the beginning of Tech cultivating the relationship with Adams.

"It was a good fit for both Georgia Tech and Will." Walker feels that Georgia Tech is getting the type of player they need to be successful and Adams is going to get to play in a great system with a great coaching staff and a great place to get an education.

It didn't take Adams long to make his decision once he received the offer from Tech at their July camp. He visited Tech last Friday and gave Coach Paul Johnson the good news.

"Will and his dad wanted to do it right and that's the way Coach Johnson likes to do it." Will and his dad came over to Tech and sat down with Coach Johnson to discuss their decision. "They did it the same way with Isaiah and I think it was a good way to handle it." Top Stories
