Written offers began going out at the beginning of the month and Brown has received two since then. "I got one from Georgia Southern and one from North Texas State." DeAngelo has also received some offers from FBS schools.
In addition to Georgia Southern, Brown has three additional schools that are showing him a lot of interest. ""I really feel that Georgia Tech, Louisville, South Florida, and Georgia Southern are recruiting me the hardest right now."
Brown has kept in touch with Georgia Tech A Backs Coach Lamar Owens. "He says that all the coaches want me at Georgia Tech." Coach Owens has let Brown know that he should be getting a written offer soon and they are very high on him. "I like Georgia Tech a lot and hope that the written offer comes soon."
Even though he's looking forward to an offer from Georgia Tech, Brown is not ready to name any favorites. "I'm pretty much still wide open right now." DeAngelo will continue to look at all the schools that have offered him to make sure which ones fit what I am looking for in a school. "I hope to sit down in a few weeks to go over all the schools and to start the process of putting together a favorites list."
Brown is being recruited by schools that play various types of defensive schemes. The type of defense the teams play will not be a factor in his decision. "At Savannah Christian we do employ both the 3-4 and 4-3 defenses." Brown moves to nose guard in the 3-4 and plays either the 1 or 3 technique in the 4-3 defense. "I know the basics of both defenses and it doesn't matter to me which one a college plays."
DeAngelo will be making the trip from Savannah to Atlanta during the season to watch Georgia Tech play. "I've told Coach Owens I'd like to come watch Georgia Tech play and he told me to let him know which games I want to attend." Brown will also be traveling to watch other teams play. "This will help in making my decision by seeing the games in person and watching the coaches work their game plans, how the players interact with one another, and how the fans get into the game day atmosphere."
