Coach Dollar Visits Miller Grove

Coach Sharman White has had the best basketball program in Georgia as his Miller Grove High School Wolverines have won three straight 4-A State titles in a row while taking on all comers. He has also produced some excellent players including 6-9 senior Tony Parker, who is being recruited by everyone.

With college coaches now able to visit schools during a period that started on September 9-October 5, Georgia Tech Assistant Chad Dollar paid a visit to the Lithonia school and talked to Coach White.

Coach Dollar was also at Miller Grove to check on one of Coach White's star players. "He just wanted to come by and check on Tony. I am sure they haven't given up on recruiting him."

While Coach Dollar didn't get a chance to see Tony Parker, he did have a chance to meet with Coach White. "Tony had a core class he couldn't miss, but we (Coach Dollar) spent some time together."

It is very noticeable by reading the recruiting services that Parker hasn't been mentioning any of the in-state schools. Coach White laughed when that was mentioned to him. "No one should discount either state schools, Georgia or Georgia Tech. Tony's been on their campuses numerous times and being local, knows he get there just about any time."

Parker's recently made one of his out of state visits. "He was at Ohio State and said it was a good visit. He's also been to UCLA." Duke and Memphis are two other favorites that could possibly get a visit. "I'm not sure he has any visits planned to Duke or Memphis."

It doesn't look as though Parker is close to making a decision. "I don't think he's sure of when that decision might be at this point," said White.

In addition to talking about Tony Parker, Coach White talked to Coach Dollar about one of his junior players. "I talked to him about Kyre' Hamer." Hamer is a 6-4 combo guard, Class of 2013. "I think he's going to be very good for us. Hamer will be a recruit that the Georgia Tech staff will be watching this upcoming season. Top Stories
