Kamara and his Norcross teammates have started the season with strong performances. Alvin has rushed for over 700 yards and scored 8 touchdowns for the 5-0 Norcross team. Three schools are showing interest in Kamara. "I have been talking with Alabama and Georgia a lot and recently Georgia Tech has really stepped up their recruitment of me."
Alvin has been talking to coaches Charles Kelly and Lamar Owens at Georgia Tech. Both coaches have told Alvin how much they would like him at Georgia Tech. "Coach Kelly is a very cool guy and he shows me a lot of attention. Coach Owens has talked to me about how I would fit into their offense and showed me how much production I could give the team from the A-back position." "They both have told me they want me to come to the campus as much as I can to get a real good feel of the school, campus, and the team. So far, Kamara have been to the Kansas and North Carolina games and he was also there this Saturday to watch Tech play Maryland. Before the game, Kamara commented, "I feel they will have a great game and come away with a win."
Kamara likes the offense run by Georgia Tech. "It is a good fit for me. We run something similar to that at Norcross. I feel that if I chose Tech I could come in with some experience and be ready to earn early playing time." With his 4.38 forty time, the 5'11"-193 Kamara would make a good A-back in their offense.
Alabama and Coach Kirby Smart have invited Kamara to their campus to get to know them better. Coach Bryan McClendon and Georgia have made the same request of Alvin. Kamara doesn't have any favorites at this time. "I am keeping my options very open and remaining neutral so I can form the best decision I can. Alvin intends to go with the flow and see where his recruitment takes him. Alvin is looking for a school with a coaching staff that he likes. He's also looking for a school that has his best interests in mind. "I want the school I choose be one where I feel real comfortable." Alvin is also looking for an offense that fits him. "Finally I want to come in play as soon as I can. If I can earn some playing time as a freshman that would be a huge plus."
