Michael Selby Waiting On First Offer

Offensive lineman Michael Selby is getting attention from a slew of schools, and Georgia Tech is one of them. If he can get an offer from the Yellow Jackets, they have a fighting chance to land the 2013 recruit out of Washington County (GA) High School.

"I have a good relationship with Georgia Tech," Michael Selby said. "I've been talking to them since my freshman year, and I'm very interested in them."

The junior, who is being recruited as either a center or offensive guard by the Yellow Jackets, is waiting patiently for his first offer. If it comes from Georgia Tech, Selby said he'd be very content with that.

"I've always liked Georgia Tech," Selby said. "I like the program a lot and (head coach) Paul Johnson is a great guy."

Having visited the campus for a Junior Day as well as the Kansas and Clemson games last season, Selby has been around the program plenty. His conversations with recruiting coordinator Mike Sewak have always left him with a good feeling about the program, he says, and he continues to wait for them to pull the trigger on an offer.

Coming from the Southeast, Selby has received interest from multiple ACC and SEC schools, as well as Central Florida. But despite being an "SEC guy," Selby said he has plenty of admiration for Georgia Tech and is as high on them as anyone.

As for the next step, Selby said he is waiting on his first offer, but hopes the offers will come early and often, because he plans to commit early as opposed to waiting until Signing Day 2013.
