Australian Paul Manera put Adam in touch with Georgia Tech. "I got in contact with Georgia Tech through my coach. He played for coach (Mike) Sewak and coach (Paul) Johnson when they were at Hawaii."
There was a lot to like for Gotsis on his trip to Georgia Tech but there was one thing stood out to him. "The most important part of my visit was to make sure I wasn't only going into a good athletic program but into a great education program as well . After I saw the amount of time and care they put into their student athletes, I knew it was the right school for me."
Adam was hosted on his trip by Tech offensive lineman Raymond Beno. "We got along very well and I really can't speak highly enough of him for all the effort he put in to me feel comfortable."
Gotsis has played on both sides of the ball for his club team so the question is where will he be playing at Tech. "Back home I'm used to playing both ways so I was happy playing on either side of the ball but after speaking with the coaches we came to a conclusion that I will be playing on defensive." Adam will be play defensive end in Tech's 3-4 scheme.
The visit gave Adam a chance to get to know the recruits making the visit with him as well as getting to know some of the players. "I bonded with the guys who were also on the recruiting trip but I also met some of the players who were really great guys who not only want to play football but to get a great education."
His decision to play his college ball at Georgia Tech was an easy one once he had a chance to visit. "The elite training facilities, great people on campus and coaching staff made my choice very easy. Georgia Tech has the academic structure I am looking for and a great football program. I can't wait to help this team in anyway possible. I thank the staff who helped during the recruiting trip, especially Coach Sewak and Ray Beno, who really went out of their way for me and my family."
Adam feels he's ready to meet the challenge of playing college football and living in the States. "It's always going to be a big change but it's something I've been preparing for over the past two years. I've been looking forward to this part of my life for a long time and to finally have my dream come true. I couldn't be happier."
Adam's next trip to Atlanta will be this summer. He will be enrolling for the summer semester. "I can't wait for summer to get here so I can get started and Go Jackets!"
