Michigan WR ready to head south

Carl Grimes is an explosive slot receiver that had an outstanding junior campaign. He was a standout at the Nike Camp in Ann Arbor, and he is likely to head south to play his college ball. Where do the Jackets fit into his plans?

Carl Grimes is a big time receiver from the state of Michigan that is taking a hard look at schools in the south. He has offers from all of his favorites, and it appears to be a foregone conclusion that he will be headed towards the south east.

"Right now I like Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and North Carolina," said Grimes. "I've gotten offers from all of them. One of the reasons I like the schools in the ACC and the Big East is that they are not afraid to use a player of my size (5-9, 175, 4.4). The Big 10 teams are always looking for the big guys, but the teams in the south will use a player with speed."

Grimes has plenty of speed, and he was one of the most productive players in the country last year. He had 900 yards receiving and 845 yards rushing with 17 total touchdowns. He attended the Nike Camp in Ann Arbor, and he had one of the best shuttle times on the day with a markof 4.07. He is currently being recruited to play wide receiver and running back. He is also an excellent student with a 3.7 GPA.
