Alan Knott Enjoys Intimate Visit To GT

The recruiting process has been keeping Sandy Creek (GA) offensive line prospect Alan Knott very busy as of late. Receiving interest from more than 20 schools around the country, Knott has already taken six unofficial visits since the end of his junior season, and there are more planned over the coming weeks.

Alan Knott's most recent visit came when he visited nearby Georgia Tech for an in-depth look at the Yellow Jacket program. Overall, he says it was a very intimate visit that he thoroughly enjoyed.

"It went great," Knott responded when asked about his trip to Atlanta. "There weren't but maybe 15 athletes there, so it was a little bit better because you got to spend more time with your recruiting coach and your position coach."

The recruiting coach that Knott was referring to at Georgia Tech is Yellow Jacket wide receiver coach "Buzz" Preston. Coach Preston has maintained a very consistent relationship with Knott throughout the process.

"I talk to him almost every other day on Facebook, and I call him every once in a while and talk to him. He's a good guy and a good coach. This weekend, he said that they liked me and that they wanted to offer me, but I just need to get my grades up a little better so that they can offer me."

Although Knott will be forced to wait to hear a decision about a Georgia Tech offer, he has already picked up four scholarship offers up to this point. He currently holds offers from Southern Miss, UNC, South Carolina and Louisville.

Knott says that he does not currently have a list of favorite schools, although he says that he will be looking to narrow down his list sometime in the near future.

"As of right now, I'll probably make my top three sometime after spring practice. That way, I'll get a good feel for who wants me. I'll probably make my top three in the spring, and then make my final decision over the summer."

As Knott continues to look at his lengthy list of schools, there are certain characteristics and qualities that he will be focusing on when attempting to narrow down his list to a final three.

"The first thing is going to be the coaches. It's going to be like a family, so I have to make sure that I like the coaches. Also, the atmosphere and where the campus is. Academics will also play a factor, because I want to study something that I enjoy." Top Stories
