Luke Davis Hopes To Get Name Out There

Safety Luke Davis had his chance to visit Georgia Tech last season, and after getting the chance to see the facilities and bask in a gameday atmosphere, he's definitely hoping to get an offer from the Yellow Jackets before Signing Day 2013.

A junior at Hewitt-Trussville (AL) High School, Luke Davis said he's been hearing from the coaching staff at GT "a little," but has yet to receive his first offer, from the Yellow Jackets or any other school. Still, Davis is confident that he will find the perfect fit with a little under a year to go before he has to make a final choice.

But when he visited Georgia Tech to see the football team take on Clemson last fall, he was a believer in what the program was selling him.

"It's awesome," Davis said. "You're right down there in the middle of a big city, and they have a great stadium, great crowd and a great game atmosphere."

Davis, who stands at 6-foot-2, 200 pounds, would be a big player (literally) in Al Groh's defensive secondary. But since he has an interest in the Yellow Jackets and doesn't have an offer from the coaches yet, he is hoping to go back to campus and give them another chance to look at the junior safety's game.

As of right now, Davis said his plan is to visit GT for a camp this summer. From there, he plans to take full advantage of the rest of the summer, as he looks to find a football program that would like to see him in their system.

"I just want to get my name out there," Davis said. "I want to be recruited by Division I schools." Top Stories
