Monte Morris Still Early In The Process

The day after winning the Michigan State C (Division) Championship and being named the game's MVP, Monte "Man-Man" Morris was off to practice with his AAU team. The 6-3, 165 pound (Flint) Beecher high junior point guard talked about his recruiting with gojackets.com.

The Flint Beecher team ended A 27-0 season ended with Monte Morris scoring 18 points, grabbing 7 rebounds, and dishing out 6 assists.

Now that his high school season is over, Monte has begun preparing for his AAU season. "My AAU team starts play April 13th."

An outstanding junior season has an old school back in the mix for Morris. Monte let us know that Michigan is once again recruiting him. Could Michigan be recruiting him again with the possibility of losing their point guard to the NBA draft? "It could be but they haven't really said."

Morris has an offer from Michigan and when he was asked if there were any plans to visit Michigan he told us that he had already taken an unofficial visit to Michigan.

When we last talked to Monte, he had offers from Central and Western Michigan, Providence, Penn State, , Southern Cal, Georgia Tech and Arizona State. Butler and Iowa State have since entered the fray. "I hope to visit them soon along with USC."

Georgia Tech is one of the schools that has visited Monte and has kept in touch with him throughout the season. "I hear from Coach (Brian) Gregory and Coach (Josh) Posterino."

Iowa State has recently visited Morris but he's not ready to name any favorites or list any one school that is recruiting him harder than the others. "Everybody's about the same at this point."

At one time, Morris had plans to make his college choice after his junior season. That may have changed a bit. "I may put it off but, after a visit, if it feels right, I might make my decision then."
