Googer Going to Work For An Offer

Woodward Academy (GA) athlete Terry Googer made the short trip to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech last week. The 2014 recuit wanted to get more familiar with the campus and talk with the coaches.

The 6' 4"-205 wide receiver was impressed with the campus and the team's practice. "I love the wide receiver drills and how the offense forces a one on one match-up with the defense. Best man wins in that scenario." Googer likes the idea of being able to use his size to line up facing a one on one match-up.

Terry talked with Georgia Tech coaches Paul Johnson and "Buzz" Preston. Coach Johnson liked what he saw from Googer. "Coach Preston talked about me coming back to another practice and the spring game. He also wants me to come to summer camp." As the coaches have asked, Terry plans to come back for both the spring game and summer camp.

Defensive backs Coach Charles Kelly was someone Googer wanted to meet but didn't get a chance to do so. "I've heard he is an excellent coach and a great person - the type I like to be around."

The visit to Tech left a good impression on Googer. "I love the school and while I don't have an offer from them, they are my leader at this point." Googer expects to get that offer after the coaches watch him at his spring practice and at Georgia Tech's summer camp. "I know I will be working hard to get an offer from Georgia Tech."

Terry feels his best trait is his ability to catch the ball with his hands. " I am also a punishing blocker for a wide receiver." He will be using the spring and summer to work on his acceleration off the line of scrimmage "I want to also get better at getting off press coverage."

Following his visit to Georgia Tech, Googer attended the MVP Camp in McDonough, Georgia and he also has plans to visit Georgia and either Clemson or Auburn. Top Stories
