Profile 2004 - Tyler Hearin (LB)

Normally when talking about an upcoming season, teams talk about who they lost and which starters are coming back. In the case of Cullman High School in Cullman, AL, the defense will get a huge lift from Tyler Hearin who missed all of the 2002 season with a broken leg. With 102 tackles as a sophomore, Hearin will give Cullman a huge lift. He already helped lead the baseball team to a State Championship this spring, and he will be looking to do the same for the football team.

"I broke my leg in the last play of the second quarter in our jamboree game last summer," said Hearin. "It was really disappointing missing the whole season, but I'm in top shape now. I'm running a 4.56 at school, and I played center field and third base for our baseball team this spring."

Hearin was on hand at Alabama's camp this weekend. He has been to a camp at Ole Miss, and he has several more camps on the scheduled this summer.

"I'm going to Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Southern Miss in July. I'm looking at Alabama and Auburn. I've always loved both of those schools. I've always liked Georgia Tech too. I had a good showing at Ole Miss. I like South Carolina, but they don't know much about me yet. Georgia has always been one of my favorites too. I don't have any junior film to send the schools. So, I'm going to video tape myself going through a bunch of drills this summer and include it with some of my sophomore film."

Hearin is a player that may have been forgotten about outside of Cullman last year, but he's going to make a name for himself back on the field this year. Top Stories
