"I like the campus very much and I know the Tampa area has sent a lot of players to Georgia Tech." Harris wanted to get a first hand look at what those players saw in the school and the football program.

Nigel got to talk Harrell following Friday's practice. "Not only is he my friend but he's also my cousin." Harris spent the night following practice and also attended Saturday's scrimmage.

Harris had a chance to talk with three of the Tech coaches following practices." Nigel spent sometime with defensive coordinator Al Groh, his position coach, Joe Speed, and his recruiting coach, Brian Bohannon. "They let me know they are recruiting me as an outside linebacker and they could tell by our conversations and film that I have a passion for football."

The football tradition and the academics are two things that make Georgia Tech a program that he likes. "I have a very good and strong interest in Georgia Tech." An offer from Tech would increase Nigel's interest.

Nigel feels the interest is strong from both sides. "Even though I don't have an offer, we both want to keep the communication going." Nigel will keep the Georgia Tech staff informed on his recruiting and they will keep him informed on the open scholarship slots.

Vanderbilt, Purdue, South Florida, UAB , Umass, and Western Kentucky are the schools that have offered Nigel. "From talking with my high school coach and schools that are recruiting me, I feel more offers are on the way."

Texas A&M and Illinois are two of the schools that have started to recruit Harris. "They want me to come in for visits to get to know them better." Nigel is looking to see if that can be arranged.

Location will not be a factor for Harris in making his decision. He will be looking for a school that has a good academic support system. His relationship with the coaches will also be a factor.

Harris is not sure if he'll be able to make it back to Tech this spring or summer but it is something he would like to do.

Vanderbilt will be the next visit for Harris. He will be traveling to Nashville this coming weekend followed by a trip to Orlando for a Nike combine on the 22nd.

Harris called us back Sunday to give us his observations of Saturday's scrimmage. "Man it was awesome. They were head hunting out there on defense and doing some hard hitting." Saturday opened Nigel's eyes about the Tech football program.

Watching Saturday's scrimmage increased Nigel's interest in Georgia Tech. "I loved the coaching, the intensity off the players, and how the team responded. I am very high on Georgia Tech right now and an offer from the Yellow Jackets would increase my interest even more."
