Georgia Tech Offense Suits Christy's Talents

Duchtown High School (LA) wide receiver Shelby Christy has seen his recruitment heating up with several recent offers. One of those recent offers comes from the ACC and the other from the SEC.

Shelby Christy's offer total now stands at 14. "I just picked up an offer from Vanderbilt yesterday. I also picked up an offer from Georgia Tech."

Georgia Tech Coach Charles Kelly made a recent visit to Shelby's school. "Charles Kelly has come by my school twice. Once to give me an offer and once to watch my spring practice. He's a great guy and we get along very well."

Georgia Tech's run oriented offense is just fine with Christy. "I like blocking just as much as I do catching the ball." Christy feels he would be a good fit for the Georgia Tech offense.

The 6'3"-190 receiver uses his size and 4.48 speed to his advantage when he's on the field. Shelby is also looking to improve his game. "I feel I need to attack the ball more when catching it and I need to be more aggressive in going after the ball."

With summer camps right around the corner, Shelby has a good idea which schools he'll be visiting. "I know I am going to camps at Mississippi State, Alabama, and LSU." Shelby also hopes to visit schools like Georgia Tech and others that have given him offers. "I want to check them out."

Distance may be one of the factors involved when Shelby makes his decision. "I'd like my family to be able to see me play." Shelby will also be looking for a school where he feels comfortable. It won't matter to Christy if that school is in a small town or a big city. "If I am comfortable there, it will not matter."

Shelby is looking to make his decision sometime between the end of summer and the start of his senior season. "I don't see it dragging out." Top Stories
