Bishop McNamara, Maryland defensive tackle Darius Commissiong continues to receive offers from some of the top programs around the country. His offer list has now grown to over 20 schools.

Commissiong is happy with the way his recruitment has gone. "I've picked up recent offers from teams like North Carolina, Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Purdue."

In spite of having over 20 offers, Darius is not ready to name a favorite. "I will use the summer to narrow my list down to a top 10 or maybe a top 5." Darius will then pick five schools for his official visits before making a decision.

Darius has an idea of which schools will be getting those official visits. "As of now it looks like Georgia Tech, Iowa, Clemson, Virginia, and North Carolina will be getting the officials. The official visit list is not set in stone for Commissiong. "This list could change as time goes by."

Georgia Tech is one of the schools that Darius has talked to recently. Commissiong keeps in touch with defensive coordinator Al Groh. "I really like him. He's a cool guy that is very straight forward, honest, and with a good sense of humor."

Darius wasn't sure how to take Coach Groh when they first met but that has changed as he got to know him better. "I like him a lot and he keeps me laughing when we talk about other things other than football and recruiting."

"I really like Georgia Tech a lot. I know they have some players from around here down there."

The plan for Darius is to take all of his official visits. "I want to get to know the schools and that is the best way to get to know them." Darius knows that planning those visits will be difficult. "My high school only plays a couple of games on Friday so I will have to take my official visits on a bye week or after the season." Darius does know that he'll probably be making his decision on signing day. Top Stories
