Reeves-Maybin Changes Recruiting Approach

The question with Clarksville, Tennessee athlete Jalen Reeves-Maybin has never been whether or not he was talented enough but rather what position would he play in college. That question will no longer play a role in his recruitment.

There are no new schools in the picture but Jalen Reeves-Maybin does have a core group of six schools that are showing him the most interest. "Tennessee, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt are stepping up more than the others."

His athletic ability is apparent as these schools are recruiting him for multiple positions. "Mississippi wants me as a safety/hybrid linebacker, Georgia Tech wants me as a quarterback, and the others want me as a running back and wide receiver."

At one time, Jalen was looking at schools based on the position they wanted him to play. That has now changed. "I have come to the conclusion that I am a football player and I will play any position that my school of choice wants me to play."

The possibility of entering school at one position and then being moved to another position is not a concern for Jalen. He knows that would be a possibility no matter what school he chooses. " It wouldn't bother me at all. "

Jalen's most recent visit was to Ole Miss. He met with the coaches there and had a chance to see more of the campus. His next scheduled visits will be to Tennessee and Georgia Tech. "After that, I will play it by ear and see what happens as far as visits are concerned."

Jalen is on schedule to graduate early and he hopes to make his college decision sooner than later. "I will probably have a top five by the end of the summer and concentrate on those schools. Jalen is not sure if he will take any or all of his official visits but he'd like to take some visits and then make a decision.

"Basically it will come down to whether or not I fit in and feel comfortable at that school and how well I get along with the coaches at the school." Top Stories
