The 6'2"-290 recruit will take on additional responsibilities with Harris County in his senior season lining up at tight end in addition to anchoring the defensive line at nose tackle.

The visit to Georgia Tech was the first of the summer for Ellison. "I went to one or two in the spring." Jay visited Auburn for their Junior Day and returned to Auburn for their spring game. Jay is happy with the way his recruitment is progressing but he is not completely satisfied. "I'm still looking to get more offers."

Ellison is in the early stages of his relationship with Georgia Tech defensive backs coach, Charles Kelly. "He just took over as my recruiting coach. He's a real good recruiting coach and we've gotten to know each other better." Ellison and Coach Kelly have discussed academics and what it's like to play at Georgia Tech.

As Ellison proceeds with his recruitment, he is looking at the atmosphere at the schools and the coaching staffs. "I'm looking for my relationship with the players and the coaches." Ellison will now begin to attend more camps and take visits to schools showing him interest. "I'll probably take five more visits."

Ellison will be returning to Georgia Tech July 13th to participte in the one on ones at the camp and to spend some time with the players. Jay is still looking at schools right now and is not ready to name any favorites. He will soon be trimming down his list of offers. "By the end of the summer I should have a top five or six."

Jay is keeping an eye on the depth charts of the schools showing him interest. The depth charts will play a role when he trims his list. Jay should have a decision by the end of December or January after taking his official visits. The decision could also come earlier. "When I have the feel, I'll make my decision."
