Interest Picking Up For Ahmed Hill

Augusta, Georgia shooting guard Ahmed Hill entered the April evaluation ranked outside the top 100 in the 2014 recruiting rankings. Hill's performance in the April and July evaluation periods left little doubt that he is one of the better recruits in the class.

Ahmed Hill has continued his solid performance in the first two weeks of the July evaluation period and is now ranked as the number 26 player in the class by FOXSportsNext. Hill and his teammates with Southern Stampede made it to the finals of the 16U in the Nike EYBL Peach Jam before losing to the Texas Titans in double overtime.

Hill was one of the standout performers for the Stampede throughout the Peach Jam tournament. His performance has led to interest from schools around the country. "I've been working hard and this is something I've been looking forward to." The interest in Hill is coming from schools like UConn, Marquette, Texas, Georgia Tech, and Indiana.

The offer offer list for Hill has now grown to close to 20 offers. Hill will begin to visit some of those schools following the July evaluation period. Two of those schools will be Florida State and UConn. Georgia Tech is one of the schools that has already received a visit from Hill. "I've been on their campus twice."

The increased interest in Hill may have an affect on when he'll make his decision. "If my summer keeps going as it is, I will probably commit next summer." Hill is not ready to narrow his list but he did name schools like UConn, Texas, Indiana, Ohio State, Marquette, and Clemson when asked about favorites.

Ahmed will be looking for a school where he feels he's part of a family. "I'm not worried about the style of play as long as I can contribute." The schools recruitng Hill are looking for him to be a combo guard.

As the interest in Hill continues to grow, we may see numerous changes to his list of favorite schools. The conclusion to the evaluation period will give him a chance to focus on which of those schools he will look at prior to making his college choice.
