Samuel waiting for first offer

Stratford Academy (GA) junior defensive end Caleb Samuel is making a name for himself this season. The 6'5"-265 recruit is hearing from a lot of schools and it shouldn't be long before he receives his first offer.

Profile - Caleb Samuel

Caleb is happy with the interest he's getting."I am hearing from Boston College, Georgia Tech, Georgia, North Carolina, LSU, South Carolina, and Florida to name a few."

While he doesn't have any offers, Caleb feels that a few schools are close to offering. "Boston College, North Carolina, Georgia Tech, and LSU are the four schools that are recruiting me the hardest now."

Caleb's most recent visit was to Baton Rouge to see LSU play. "It was well worth the drive. We got to the stadium and seeing the game at night was awesome." Caleb loved everything about the trip."

Samuel's next trip may be to see South Carolina play. "We (my family and I) promised the coaches at South Carolina that we would come up there this weekend. Caleb also wanted to visit Florida but he doesn't think he'll have the time to make that happen.

Unlike many recruits, Caleb will not be making an early commit. "I want to see what offers I do get and use my senior year to help in my recruitment." Caleb will probably make his decision during his senior season.

Caleb comes from a family that values academics and that will be one of the deciding factors when he makes his college choice. "I also want to go to a school that has a good football program and I'd like a campus that is easy to get around and has facilities that are close together."

Most of the schools recruiting Caleb like him as a defensive end. A few, however, like him as an offensive tackle. Caleb has yet to play a down at that position. "I guess they like my athletic ability." Caleb feels that defensive end is where he'll end up in college. Top Stories
