Marvin was joined on the visit by fellow commits Darius Commissiong, Kevin Robbins, and Tolando Cleveland. "We are all excited about coming to Georgia Tech and really talked about how we can come in and help the defense get to the next level."
John felt that all four of them had the same mind set about wanting to get there and show what they can do. "We are all very much committed to Georgia Tech."
Getting re-acquainted with the coaches was the biggest part of the trip for Marvin. "I had a good long talk with Coach (Paul) Johnson about his plans for the team and defense which has me excited."
Marvin and Tolando Cleveland also sat down with Coach (Charles) Kelly and broke down film. "It was good to see where he is coming from and I really feel he has a great plan for the defense."
When Marvin first made his commit, he felt that he would be playing cornerback. After seeing my film and seeing how much I have grown, Coach Kelly feels that safety is the best place for me. To be honest, I feel the same and really prefer playing safety."
After talking to the coaches, John spent time with the players, including his host Lynn Griffin, on Saturday and watched the team practice. "They were fired up and I feel they are more than ready to show what they can do in the bowl game."
Marvin also toured the campus and talked with the academic people. "They have all the tools necessary for you to succeed academically at Georgia Tech."
The weekend visit cemented Marvin's commitment to Georgia Tech. "I can't wait for my time to start there." Marvin is looking forward to the February signing day, graduating from high school, and getting to Tech.
