Andrew spent his Christmas break playing in the Rising Seniors All-Star Game. "I picked up an offer from Vanderbilt after the game and Alabama let me know that they are interested in me and will let me know about how and when they will start their recruitment of me."
The offer list for Williams has grown to 29 and he is getting ready to trim the list. "I plan on trimming down to a top five around this time or later next month."
There are several schools that Andrew mentioned that are recruiting him harder than the others. "Notre Dame, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, Texas, Ohio State, and LSU are the schools that are really pulling out all the stops in recruiting me."
Andrew's brother Anthony plays defensive end for Georgia Tech. Will that influence his decision? "He'd like me to be there but at the same time he knows I need to follow my heart. I'll be honest, I have really thought about it and will give it serious consideration."
Most of the schools like Williams as a defensive end but a few are looking at him as a hybrid defensive end/outside rush linebacker. "I like that idea and feel I could warm up to it." Andrew is ready to play wherever they want him to play.
Schools are now setting up junior days and other visits. Andrew has visits planned to four schools. "I'll be at Georgia Tech on the 20th, Notre Dame on the 18th (just a one day visit), South Carolina, and Georgia." Williams is also planning visits to spring practice. He's looking to make more than one visit to the local schools.
While he has not set up a time to make his decision, look for Andrew to name his college choice after his senior season.
