Griffin received the call from Coach Johnson around 6 pm this evening. Coach Johnson talked to Griffin about coming to Georgia Tech and extended him an offer. "I told him I was very honored to get the offer and that I would be coming to Georgia Tech."

Ty also talked to his recruiting and position coach Brian Bohannon. "Both he and Coach Johnson said that they were excited to have player with my versatility and a player that wanted to come to Georgia Tech."

Georgia Tech will start Griffin out at quarterback. If that doesn't work out, Ty will move to A-Back or defensive back. Griffin doesn't have a problem with that scenario. "I'm cool with it if that happens."

Griffin has also been in touch with Tech receiver Darren Waller. "He said welcome to the Tech family and he was glad that we are teammates once again. He said I would love it at Georgia Tech."

Griffin is now done with his recruitment. "I cannot wait until next Wednesday. Griffin's parents and his coaches will be there first thing that morning and he will sign his LOI. "I can't wait to get it in to Georgia Tech."

It is natural to ask if Ty is related to former Tech baseball great Ty Griffin. "I am not related but I have heard a lot about him. I know he was a great ball player at Georgia Tech and was a high draft pick."

Griffin is currently 6'-190 and runs a 4.49 forty. Top Stories
