Langston Hughes (GA) junior linebacker Kalil Gray is looking for his first offer. Gray and some of his teammates took their first Junior Day visit Saturday in search of that first offer.

Kalil and his teammates spent the day at Georgia Tech touring the campus, facilities, and talking to the coaches and players. Gray enjoyed having that opportunity. "We also talked with the academic side of the program. I liked doing that. It lets you know what you need to do to get to Georgia Tech and what you need to do to stay in school."

Another highlight for Gray was getting to see the locker room and trying on the jerseys. "That was very cool." Kalil also got to see the player's dorms.

Kalil and the other recruits had the opportunity to spend some time with the current players. "They broke us up into offense and defense and we had a chance to talk with the players and get a feel of what it takes to be a student-athlete at Georgia Tech."

Georgia Tech's recently hired coaches Ted Roof and Mike Pelton spent some time with Kalil. "Both of them said they loved my film and they like the way I handle myself on the field."

Gray has been invited back to spend more time at Tech. Kalil likes the idea of having that opportunity. "I want to get over to a practice or possibly the spring game."

The trip to Georgia Tech got high grades from Gray. "I'd give it a solid 8, maybe even an 8 and 1/2. I had a great time up there."

Following the trip to Georgia Tech, Gray hopes to visit other schools. "Right now I know I want to visit South Carolina, Ole Miss, Georgia State, Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Minnesota."

Kalil is looking to make all those visits before he starts thinking about naming any favorites. "Right now I am wide open and will remain that way until I feel I have all the offers I can get." Top Stories
