Young Making Plans for GT Visit

John Curtis Christian High School (LA) produces division I recruits year after year. One of the recruits that schools are looking at in the 2014 class is linebacker Kenny Young. There is a new school among that group that has entered the picture for Young.

Profile - Kenny Young

Young recently picked up his 18th offer from Georgia Tech. "I was very glad to get it. I have high interest in the program and have been wanting to talk with the defensive coaches and head coach at Georgia Tech."

The offer to Young was extended by Tech defensive coordinator Ted Roof. Coach Roof liked what he saw from Young on film and feels he could be an impact player at Tech. "He wants me to come up there for a visit and I am planning on doing that."

Georgia Tech sees Young as a possibility at either outside or inside linebacker in their defensive schemes. "Coach Roof said he has big plans for his defense and he wants me to be a big part of it."

Kenny is one of four Curtis players offered by Tech and they have been talking about making the trip to Atlanta together. "They will be one of the major players for me."

At the present time, Young doesn't have any favorites. "I want to give each school that has offered me a fair chance." Young feels that this is the best way to approach his recruitment.

Young will be looking at the usual factors that many recruits look for in choosing a school. He'll be looking at the school's academic reputation, how quickly he can get on the field, and how comfortable he feels at the school.

No visits have been planned yet for Kenny. "I don't have anything set in stone. I would like to visit as many schools as I can especially the ones that have offered me and ones that I like that haven't offered." Top Stories
