Foster had just recently returned from a trip to Mississippi State and it's rural campus. He didn't expect to see what he did when he arrived at Tech. "Coach (Paul) Johnson had this great Power Point presentation about the school. While it is set in a big city, he showed how it was really more like a school in a small town once you get on campus."
Donnie also learned about the players that Tech has been putting in the NFL and he learned about former players that have secured jobs with large corporations like Microsoft.
The atmosphere at Tech was one of the things that stood out to Foster. "When the players and coaches talk about the team, they say we, not me. You can tell they are a solid bunch that gets along great."
Tech is looking at Foster at the center position. "Coach (Mike) Sewak talked in depth with me about how they want their linemen to block in the spread option. I love the offense they run. It fits me perfectly."
Foster is still looking for his first offer. "If Georgia Tech were to offer, they would be way up on my list." Foster likes having the opportunity to intern with major companies in Atlanta and earn credits for it. "Coach (Lamar) Owens and Coach Sewak told me that they are interested in me becoming a part of the Georgia Tech team."
Look for Foster to make a retun trip to Tech. "I am coming back for the spring game and maybe some practices."
The return trip will be one of many for Foster. Donnie will be traveling to South Carolina on the 23rd. He will also be taking a trip that will find him at Duke, North Carolina, and North Carolina State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and possible Florida beginning March 30th. "On April 6th, I will go up to Tennessee for a visit."
Donnie has plans to major in some form of engineering or business. "I know Georgia Tech is highly rated in both and part of the Power Point presentation Coach Johnson showed us was that Georgia Tech was ranked as the 7th overall school in the nation. Foster will also be looking for a school with a winning tradition.
