One of the recent offers received by Johnson came from Georgia Tech and Coach Lamar Owens. The Georgia Tech staff watched film of Johnson, liked what they saw, and Coach Owens made the call to offer Garrett.

Coach Owens likes Johnson on the offensive side of the ball. "I am still growing and right now I am 5'11" and 170 pounds and they like their receivers on the big side." The Tech coaches were also impressed with Johnson's explosiveness off the ball and the way he runs his routes.

Johnson has been invited to make the trip to Atlanta to visit Tech. "Coach Owens wants me to come up as soon as I can and I will be coming to watch spring practice." Garrett is looking forward to making his first trip to Georgia Tech. "I want to get to know more about them."

Garrett hasn't scheduled any other visits this spring but he does know that he wants to visit Northwestern and Boston College. "I've been to South Florida and Florida but that is about it as far as visits go."

There are a few factors that Garrett will be looking at when he makes his college choice. The most important to him will be how he connects with the coaching staff. "I want to major in sports management and I want the degree to be a valuable one." Johnson is also looking for a school with a winning program.

Look for Garrett to make his decision following his senior season. "I want to make sure I have as many offers as possible to choose from when it comes time to make my decision." Top Stories
