Cannon Looking for the Right Atmosphere

Greenville, South Carolina defensive back Zykiesis Cannon has received seven offers and more could be on the way. Cannon recently visited one of those schools that offered.

Cannon made the trip down I85 to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech for their Junior Day. The visit opened Cannon's eyes about Georgia Tech. "It was great. I've been to Atlanta a few times and always thought Georgia Tech was a small campus. I never realized how big and great looking the campus really is." Cannon rated the visit to Tech a 9.

Zykiesis liked everything about the visit but one thing stood out to him. "The presentation Coach (Paul) Johnson and his staff put together about life after football and the opportunities a Georgia Tech degree gives you to be successful in life was great."

Cannon also met with his recruiting coach Mike Sewak. Coach Sewak and the Tech coaches liked what they saw from Cannon after watching his film. This led to an offer for Zykeisis.

Look for Cannon to return to Tech this spring. "I feel for sure I will make a few practices and hopefully the spring game as they do it different from other schools."

Two other visits are also planned for Cannon. "This weekend I'm going to South Carolina and March 30th I'm going to Louisville."

It is too early in the process for Zykiesis to name a leader and he remains wide open. Cannon will probably wait until right before signing day before making his college choice. "This only comes around once and you definitely want to make the best choice for yourself."

When making the decision, it will be important for Cannon to find a school where he feels at home. "I'm looking for a school that has a good atmosphere around it. That's about it to be honest." Top Stories
