Georgia State, Troy, and Old Dominion are the latest schools to offer Hackett. "I already had Georgia Tech, Kentucky, and Furman." Hackett feels that Kentucky is showing him the most attention. "They seem to send me more texts, messages, and stuff in the mail."
Georgia Tech also continues to recruit Hackett after his recruiting coach Brian Bohannon took the head coach job at Kennesaw State. Coach Ted Roof has taken over Hackett's recruitment and it has been a good transition.
"Coach Roof says he really likes me as a stand up outside linebacker." Hackett would play a position similar to a hybrid safety. "I could cover the wide receiver, the tight end, or the running back and still rush the passer."
Being close to home will be one of the advantages Tech will have in Hackett's recruitment. "I have made a few trips over there and I really love the campus." Hackett also likes the football program and the coaching staff.
Hackett is in no rush to end his recruitment. He'll wait to see what schools might offer him. Hackett will also wait to see if there are other schools that are a better fit. "If I see one that fits me the best, I'll will commit to that school."
As is the case with many recruits, Hackett is looking for a strong academic school. Playing time will also be an important factor in his decision. "I'd like a school that has good football facilities plus I want a good relationship with the coaches."
Several schools will be receiving visits from Hackett as spring practices are winding down. This past weekend he was at Furman for their spring game. "On the 13th, I will be at Kentucky for their spring game. On the 19th, I will be at Georgia Tech for their Friday night spring game. Then on the 20th I will go over to Georgia State for a Junior Day.
