Durham Still Favoring Three

Jacksonville, Florida defensive back Step Durham has become a frequent visitor to Georgia Tech. Friday Durham and his dad made his sixth visit to the Tech campus for the annual spring game.

Durham had a great time on the visit. "I saw a big improvement from the first scrimmage. You could tell how the defense has really stepped up and embraced what Coach (Ted) Roof is teaching. " Step noticed that Coach Roof demanded perfection and that the players responded to those demands. "I really love the way he coaches and treats his players."

Durham was also impressed with the other coaching hires made by Coach Paul Johnson. "I think they have put together a great staff." Durham is also happy to have Coach Lamar Owens as his recruiting coach. "With a great head coach like Coach Johnson, it's a great staff."

The visit to Tech was the last one of the spring for Step and his dad. "We are getting close to my high school spring practice and I've been told that I will have coaches coming to see me at my spring practices."

Step continues to have three schools that he is favoring. "Basically my list consists of Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, and Vanderbilt." Durham will likely make his college choice from those three schools. "I'd like to get over to Ole Miss and Vandy sometime in the summer and I'll probably get back up to Georgia Tech in the summer."

At one time, Step was thinking about making his decision after his senior season. An earlier decision may now happen. "I'm leaning towards making it during the middle or sooner in my season. I'll know when the time is right."
