Searcy was impressed with the stadium and the night-time panoramic view of Atlanta from the stadium. Qua also liked what he saw from the defense. "I loved the intensity of the defense during the game. It was nice getting to see what the new coaches are doing at Georgia Tech."
In addition to talking to Coach Roof and Coach Pelton, Qua also met with his recruiting coach, Joe Speed. "All of them were very happy to see me there. They really like my play and film and said they would love to have me as an addition to the Georgia Tech defense."
Searcy's trip to Tech is the lone visit he's made this spring. He does have a few other schools that he likes in addition to Tech. "I really like Georgia Tech, Louisville, and South Carolina." All three schools have offered Qua.
Searcy has not received an offer from the other in-state school (Georgia). Would an offer put them in the picture? Searcy feels they would have a lot of ground to make up if they did offer. "I have really bonded well with the staffs at those three schools and feel real comfortable with them."
Qua is not ready to eliminate any schools at this time. He now has seven offers with Wake Forest being the latest to offer.
The summer will be a busy one for Searcy. "I want to visit all the schools that I like and try to go to as many camps as I can. Qua will definitely visit the three schools previously mentioned.
A decision from Searcy on his college choice will probably not come this summer. He plans on making that decision later in his senior season.
