James Looking Forward to Visit

Springfield High School (OH) outside linebacker Davonte James is getting to the point in his recruitment where he's beginning to know enough about the schools recruiting him to name a list of favorites. James currently has three schools that fall into that category.

Illinois visited James earlier this week and James called them following the visit. "They told me that they are really interested in me and they want me to come by for a visit to get to know the school, coaches, players, and support better."

James is not sure if Illinois will be a factor in his recruitment. "I really don't know much about them so it puts them behind a lot." James will see what happens if he decides to visit Illinois.

West Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati are the three schools that Davonte feels most comfortable with thus far. "I've visited both West Virginia and Cincinnati so that helps their recruitment of me." The three schools are the front front runners in Davonte's recruitment.

Georgia Tech Coach Dave Walkosky also visited Springfield High School this week. "He taked to my coach and I later called and talked with him. James and Coach Walkosky talked about Davonte visiting Georgia Tech. It looks like the visit will be around or on June 1st. "Georgia Tech is a school I like a lot and I really want to visit."

James and Coach Walkosky also talked about Tech's unique ability to put players in the NFL or have them ready to enter the business world with a good job. "I liked hearing that." They also talked about the coordination between academics and athletics at Tech and the quality of life in Atlanta.

"I loved hearing what he had to say and it really put Georgia Tech up there in my recruiting picture. I am looking forward to my visit down there and seeing first hand all about Georgia Tech and the city."

James hopes to make his college choice by the start of his senior year. "I will probably make my decision in mid-July or August."
