Smith has not received any new offers and is at the point in his recruitment where he is looking at several schools. "I will start doing things like talking to the coaches more and setting up visits to get to know more about them."
Eric has six schools that he feels are recruiting him the hardest. The six are Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Michigan, Tennessee, Louisville, and Indiana. "All of them are ones I like very much and I will take the time and effort to get to know as much as I can about each."
Even though Georgia Tech is the furthest away, Smith doesn't look at that as a negative. "My teammate Marshon Lattimore and I plan on making a trip down to Georgia Tech on our own just to check them out." The Glenville teammates want to get to know the school, city, campus, coaches, and players better. "The best way to do that is to make a trip on our own."
Smith and Lattimore visited Tech last season. "We really loved it and it made us want to come back for another visit this summer. We might even come back for another game this year."
Coach Walkosky and Smith have stayed in touch since his visit to Tech last season. "He told me that he has moved back to coaching special teams but I am still a high priority."
The summer tour for Smith and his teammates will include Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Louisville, and Kentucky. "I know a lot of us will crowd into a van and go on a road trip." The teammates may include additional schools if they have the time.
