Kemp will be in Atlanta Friday as Georgia Tech kicks off a big recruiting weekend. Kemp has been talking with Tech Coach Mike Pelton. Kemp and Coach Pelton finalized plans this week for Demetrius to attend Tech's Friday gathering of top recruits. "I am anxious to get over there and check out the facilities, campus, and academic possibilities for me."
Demetrius likes what he's heard from Coach Pelton about the value of a Tech degree for life after football. "He told me that all the coaches have seen my film and they are arguing over where I should play." The defense coaches would like to see Kemp play safety and the offensive coaches want him at receiver or A Back. "That is a very good feeling to know all the coaches want me at the school, not just my recruiting coach."
"They have extended me an offer and they are a school I am seriously considering. I feel good about them and look forward to getting to know the coaches there." Demetrius is also looking forward to seeing family that live in the Atlanta area.
There had been rumors that Auburn led for Kemp but Demetrius denied that. "They haven't offered me." Demetrius doesn't want to name a leader until he visits Georgia Tech. "I could visit Tech and just get blown away by what I see and hear from the coaches." Kemp feels that Tech and Arkansas State are the two schools recruiting him the hardest.
Following his visit to Tech on Friday, Kemp will be attending Auburn's camp on Sunday. "I also have some other schools that I need to talk with to finalize the dates for visits."
Demetrius hasn't set up a definite time to make his decision. "I'd like to have something done by sometime in July so I can focus all my attention on my last year at Demopolis."
