Klock Makes Final Visit Before Decision

Hummelstown, Pennsylvania athlete Trey Klock and his mom traveled to Atlanta Tuesday to visit Georgia Tech on their way to a vacation in Florida. The visit will likely be his final one before making his college choice.

The trip south was easier than Trey expected. "It was only about 1 1/2 hour flight and about 30 minutes on Marta to our hotel." The Tech coaches showed Trey everything they had planned for him. "They showed me what they had in store for me on defensive and Coach (Paul) Johnson told me that he would use me on offense. That showed me how much he really wanted me at Georgia Tech."

Tech defensive coordinator Ted Roof met with Trey and let him know that he is the perfect size for his defensive ends. "Right now I am 6'4"-260. "He told me how much he loves being back at Georgia Tech and that he loved his time here as player. He said I would also love it."

Trey's recruiting coach, Brian Cook, postponed his vacation to meet with Trey. "That really meant a lot to me and my mom. She knew right then that the coaches here really care about their players." Trey and his mom don't think that the distance from home is a problem.

Another big part of the visit for Trey was a chance to meet with the head of the business school and some of the professors. "I know that Georgia Tech has a highly ranked and respected business school and that is what I want to major in when I get to college."

Following the meetings, Trey got to spend some time with the coaches and then and he hung out with the players. "I hung out with Zach Laskey the most and he had a lot of great things to say about the school and the coaching staff. The players really made me feel like a part of the team."

Trey and his mom also enjoyed having their pictures taken. "My mom picked at me in one picture saying that she had her high heels on making her look almost as tall as me." Trey's mom is a huge Coke-Cola fan and she was glad to see the Coke building right across the street from the school and the World of Coke downtown.

Next up for Trey will be time to make his college choice. "I am basically down to a few schools that I want to keep to myself." Ideally, Trey would like to decide this Sunday as a Father's Day present to his dad who is also his high school coach. "It may or may not happen this Sunday and if it doesn't it will be soon afterwards."

Trey and his mom will be going to Florida Wednesday to meet his dad and brother for their vacation. "Before we go, I will go to Tech's 7:30 AM workouts. I will then say say my goodbyes to the players and coaches. I want to see them one last time as this trip has been that good."
