Until recently, it was assumed that Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia were the final three schools for Lowndes County, Georgia offensive guard Dyshon Sims. A Friday visit could bring another school into the picture for Sims.
Sims will be making the trip up I-75 Friday to Atlanta to visit Georgia Tech. "I am going up there to visit the school and just about everything I can get in tomorrow."
There were a few reasons that led to Sims making the visit. Being able to be near his dad who lives in Marietta is one of the main reasons. "It would be nice to be able to have a short 15 minute drive and have a place to go and sit back in case I just needed to get away for a little bit." Dyshon also likes the idea that his dad would be able to come to all his home games.
His teammate and Georgia Tech commit Tre Jackson is the other reason for making the trip to Atlanta. "He really loves it up there and has told me some great stuff about the school." Jackson has told Sims enough to make him visit and to take a close look at the school.
Dyshon let us know that Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia are his current leaders. "This visit make change that. We'll have to see." Sims feels that it will take a great visit to get Tech in the same group with those three schools.
There are a few things that Dyshon will be looking for on the visit. "The feeling I have when talking to the coaches will be important." Sims wants to know how he'll fit into the program and he'll be looking to find out more information about a possible sports medicine major. "Finally, I'd like to see the campus, meet some of the players, and just get a good feel for the school."
Ideally, Sims would like to make his college choice before school starts so that he could concentrate on his senior season. "I'd like to get my mom to these schools and let her see what I have and get some input from her." If that can't be done before school starts, Sims will probably wait to take his five official visits before he makes his decision.
