Bartram Trail, Florida offensive lineman Jesse Burkett has over twenty offers. Burkett is visiting some of the schools on that list of offers and he hopes to narrow his list to five or fewer schools.

Burkett recently returned home after visiting California and Stanford. Jesse and his family also used the trip as a family vacation. Jesse went on to add, "I will be visiting Georgia Tech the 14th and 15th of July."

Jesse described the visits to Cal and Stanford as both being about the same. The one difference was that Cal's coaches were on campus for his visit and most of Stanford's were gone. "Other than Stanford being a small campus setting and Cal having a big city feel, I would say that they were pretty equal."

In addition to visiting Tech, Jesse will be spending time with his aunt who lives in nearby Sandy Springs. The visit to Tech will be the first for Burkett. "I am definitely looking forward to it. I have heard a lot of great things about the program. My recruiting coach, Coach (Lamar) Owens, has been trying to get up there for a visit."

"Coach Owens said the coaches want to get me up there to take a look at me. He (Coach Owens) told me they start all their linemen out at center and move them until they find the position they feel will benefit both the player and team." Upon hearing this, Jesse feels this is very good way to make the best offensive line possible. Jesse played guard as a sophomore and last season he played tackle. He'll also be playing tackle this season. "At 6'4" and 290 pounds, they tell me I am a great fit as a tackle."

Burkett hopes to make his college choice before the start of his senior season. "This is why I am taking visits to schools of interest right now and hope these visits will fill in the holes and give me all the information to make a sound decision."

Jesse will be looking for a school with a good academic reputation and a campus where he feels at home. "I want to get some decent distance from home to kind of spread my wings so to speak. It doesn't have to be a long, long ways. I just want a decent amount of space."
